You think it’ll never happen to you. After all, you keep your vehicle in good condition, you drive carefully and you plan your trips ahead of time. But eventually, almost every driver runs into a problem that requires roadside help. In fact, a study found there are 69 million breakdowns each year in the U.S., which is equivalent to one in every three drivers.

How do I request Roadside Assistance?
There are four ways to request Roadside Assistance, depending on the situation and your needs.
- If you’re in your Chevrolet, Buick, GMC or Cadillac vehicle and have a paid OnStar plan,
* you can push the blue OnStar button to talk to an Advisor. Explain your situation to the Advisor, and they can contact a local service provider to arrange for assistance. The Advisor will also contact you later to make sure the appropriate services were performed to your satisfaction. - Download the OnStar Guardian® app
* on your phone to get Roadside Assistance* wherever you go, whether you’re driving a car or riding a motorcycle. Use the app for emergencies* or roadside trouble, or if you run out of gas, need a tow or just want some reassurance that someone is looking out for you. Plus, you can share the Guardian app with up to seven loved ones.* The app is also able to detect if a collision occurs and will alert an OnStar Emergency Advisor* who can confirm where you are and what type of help you need, and then share those details with First Responders. - If you have an eligible OnStar plan, you can request help through your vehicle mobile app.
* Start by selecting the Roadside Assistance card within the Help menu, enter your vehicle information (including odometer reading) to see whether services are covered, and then select the services you need. You can also request Roadside Assistance right from your vehicle’s infotainment system (if properly equipped) — simply tap the myChevrolet, myBuick, myGMC or myCadillac icon on the screen and select Roadside Assistance to get started. - If you can’t get into your vehicle, you can also get Roadside Assistance by calling 1.888.4ONSTAR (1.888.466.7827) from any phone. That also means you can get in touch even if you don’t have access to your own phone.
What services does Roadside Assistance provide?
Roadside Assistance can help you during those unexpected moments that delay your journey. Available services include emergency towing to the nearest Dealer and emergency fuel delivery if you run out of gas. Roadside Assistance can also offer help with a flat tire or if you lock your keys inside your vehicle and can send someone to help jump-start your vehicle if the battery is dead.
